In Clongowes Wood College our aim is that students of Geography should become well-informed and responsible citizens and that, through their study of the subject, will have a lifelong love of their natural and cultural environment. We also aim to promote the conservation and sustained management of the earth’s resources for the welfare and happiness of its inhabitants and for future generations. It is also imperative in a multi-cultural Ireland that students recognise, and be sensitive to other people and their cultures, here in Ireland and elsewhere.
We strive to reach these aims whilst also creating a learning environment that enables students to reach their fullest potential in the subject. Our recent results in state exams (where all students sit Higher Level Papers) are testament to this. Through the use of numerous teaching methodologies we endeavour to bring the subject to life and create an enjoyable experience for all our students that will last long after they have passed through the doors of the college.
